We’re proud to be recruiting for an LGBTQ+ Case Worker to join our dedicated team. As our LGBTQ+ Case Worker, you’ll be working directly with people from the LGBTQ+ community who are homeless or have experienced homelessness. Your job will be to support them every step of the way — helping them understand their rights, explore housing options, and make sure they have somewhere safe to live. You’ll also offer advice, guidance, and be their advocate when they need someone in their corner. This role is about making a real difference in people’s lives by helping them feel seen, supported, and secure.
Job requirements:
- Provide flexible, high-quality advice to LGBTQ+ people at risk of homelessness, helping them understand their rights and find safe housing.
- Create tailored housing plans based on each person’s needs and risks.
- Make sure people feel heard, included, and treated with care and respect.
- Work closely with other organisations to strengthen support.
- Keep clear, accurate records and stay up to date on housing laws and LGBTQ+ issues.
- Take part in training, appraisals, and team development.
- Represent Concrete and promote the Phoenix Support Hub at events and in the community.
- Help raise awareness of the service locally through talks and outreach.
What we’re looking for:
- Lived or professional experience supporting LGBTQ+ people, especially those who are homeless or vulnerable.
- Experience giving advice and advocacy in a support setting.
- Confidence working with diverse people and complex needs.
- Understanding of LGBTQ+ discrimination and how to support those affected.
- Ability to work alone and in a team.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of GDPR and handling personal data properly.
- Experience managing difficult situations and coordinating with other services.
- Understanding of professional boundaries and safeguarding.
- Strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel, with a full UK license, car, and business insurance.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
We also welcome people with transferable skills and lived experience—your journey can be part of someone else’s success story. Help us give those without a plan, voice or home to build concrete futures by tackling the issues that keep people from finding their own home.
Please note, we will be interviewing as we go along and therefore the application may close earlier than stated. Apply now!
