This role is one of a number of key appointments that will help drive our future success. You’ll lead the day-to-day and planned maintenance services, making sure homes are safe, well-maintained, cost-effective and deliver a good service for customers. You’ll manage operational teams and contractors, oversee compliance, and plan maintenance work to keep homes in good condition and meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the delivery of repairs and maintenance services, making sure work is completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
- Manage repairs, maintenance, and void teams, ensuring services are efficient, customer-focused and deliver good performance.
- Oversee responsive repairs, planned maintenance and major works programmes, ensuring effective scheduling and strong contractor management.
- Ensure homes meet all health, safety and compliance requirements, with clear systems in place to monitor property safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage budgets and contracts, making sure services deliver value for money while maintaining quality and improving customer satisfaction.
Who you are:
- Degree qualified in construction, housing or a related discipline, or able to demonstrate substantial relevant experience, with (or working towards) a relevant Level 4 housing qualification in line with Senior Housing Manager standards.
- Strong knowledge of property services within social housing, including repairs, maintenance and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to property maintenance and housing services, and Competency and Conduct Standard.
- Proven experience developing policies, strategies or service improvements within housing, property services or a similar environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams and create a positive coaching culture.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.
- Experience identifying and managing operational risks, ensuring services meet regulatory and audit requirements.
- A strong focus on delivering high-quality, customer-focused services and driving continuous improvement.
