You will be responsible for planning and delivering a wide range of events and activities to customers at Concrete’s male accommodation scheme. You’ll work with customers experiencing a variety of complex needs, including homelessness, substance misuse and mental health, all while recognising and embracing diversity is essential to the success of the role. You’ll be a ‘community connector,’ linking customers to the local area and ensuring that they feel strong, safe and confident.
Job requirements:
- Develop a wide range of individual and group activities within the scheme, to empower customers at VCH. This might include gardening clubs, cooking classes, reading group sessions, bingo, ICT skills classes and more.
- Develop an understanding and knowledge of what activities and groups are already running in the local area, to make sure that customers are connected to the community.
- Link with community hubs and lounges to build strong partnership networks.
- Make sure that activities are tailored to the needs of customers within the scheme, developing strong links with onsite staff.
- Understand the wider needs of the community and link customers to community events which benefit the wider community, where possible.
- Refer customers to external support agencies in conjunction with the onsite staff where needed.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience of event and activities co-ordination and delivery.
- Experience of engaging with complex customers.
- Experience of giving great customer service, with a genuine compassion for people. You’ll be able to deliver a friendly and approachable service that people will want to use.
- Highly motivated and outcome focused.
- Able to demonstrate the ability to provide quality direction and support a team to achieve targets.
- Able to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Able to deliver a friendly and approachable service as part of a wider team whilst working independently to meet all of our customer’s needs.
- Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle for work.
