Job Summary

We are looking for a Locum Doctor (General Practitioner) with Mo D Experience to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (Mo D) at Aldershot Medical Centre, Aldershot, Hampshire.

This is a locum role (10.5 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the Mo D service personnel.

  • PAYE £60.10 per hour
  • Self‑employed £69.12 per hour

Main duties of the job

  • Registration with the General Medical Council both on the main register and on the GMC GP Register without restrictions.
  • Current satisfactory annual appraisal in line with the GMC Good Medical Practice requirements.
  • Certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
  • Previous Ministry of Defence (MOD) experience.
  • UK NHS Performers List registration and NHS Performer number.
  • Job responsibilities
  • Undertake Primary Healthcare (PHC) clinics for Military and entitled personnel.
  • Examinations and Occupational Health (OH) fitness for work assessments within the locum doctor’s scope of experience and qualification.
  • Inform local medical authority of any case that may affect a service person's ability to undertake duties.
  • Complete reports and documentation in accordance with MOD policy or requirements of any other government department.
  • Attend individual management reviews or case conferences with PHC and/or line management as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registration with the General Medical Council on the main register and GMC GP Register.
  • Current satisfactory annual appraisal under GMC Good Medical Practice.
  • Certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults level 3.
  • Previous MOD experience.
  • UK NHS Performers List registration and NHS Performer number.
  • PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland) or Access Northern Ireland certificate.
  • Free mandatory training.
  • Weekly payments.
  • Assignment support from experienced consultant throughout application and assignment.
