Overview

General Practitioner with Aviation Medicine Qualification (Locum) to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence at RAF Lossiemouth Medical Centre, Lossiemouth, Morayshire.

This is a 24 hours per week locum role delivering care to Mo D service personnel.

PAYE £63.11 per hour; Sole Trader £72.58 per hour.

Main duties

  • Undertake Primary Healthcare (PHC) clinics for Military and entitled personnel.
  • Examinations and Occupational Health (OH) assessments within the locum doctor’s scope of experience and qualification.
  • Inform the local medical authority of any case that may affect a service member’s ability to undertake duties.
  • Complete reports and documentation in accordance with MOD policy or the requirements of any other government department.
  • Attend individual management reviews or case conferences with PHC and/or line management as required.

  • Job requirements / Qualifications
  • Essential qualifications/Experience: General Practitioners must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) both on the main register and on the GMC GP Register without restrictions.
  • Diploma in Aviation Medicine or completion of the RAF Military Aviation Medicine Examiner (MAME) Course.
  • Current, satisfactory in-date annual appraisal in line with the General Medical Council’s Good Medical Practice.
  • In-date safeguarding training for Children and Young People and safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3.
  • Must be on the UK NHS Performers List and provide an NHS Performer number.
