The purpose of Corporate Audit (CA) is to support the Honda Motor Europe (HME) C.O & President in improving Honda’s overall European business as well as for the Africa Middle East (AME) business operation, by providing independent objective assurance of the adequacy of control and the management of risk within HME, its branches and subsidiary companies in the EAME region. It helps HME & AME to accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve effectiveness of risk management controls & governance process. The CA function aims to challenge and test current operational processes, champion best practice and be a catalyst for business improvement. In addition, the audit division may also undertake specific audit assignments and investigations, including consultancy, supplier and outsourced business partner reviews.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the audit team in the preparation and monitoring of all audits.
- Assist with analysing business processes and consider process optimisation.
- Assisting with updating audit findings and countermeasure targets.
- Assisting with preparation of audit plan, schedule including travel and accommodation arrangements.
- Keeping the audit tracker and activity log up to date.
- Maintain and update current audit processes and procedure.
- Assist with interim and final SOX Audits.
- Assist with ad hoc project work.
Qualifications, skills and experience Required
- Must be an undergraduate, undertaking a relevant business degree or interested in developing a career in Finance, Audit, Law, Business Management, looking for a placement as part of their studies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to meet agreed deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and conditions.
- A self-starter who works well both individually and as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to travel in the UK and in Region.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Teams, PowerPoint and Word).
- Advanced Excel Skills (ability to produce graphs).
At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement. Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
