Homewell Plus Limited is a locally based, Allied Healthcare Professional-led company providing support to people in their own homes.

Our approach focuses on promoting independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing. We aim to support people to remain safely and confidently in their own homes for as long as possible.

Role Purpose

As a Caregiver with Homewell Plus, you will provide person-centred support to clients in their own homes.

The role involves supporting people with their day-to-day needs while encouraging them to maintain as much independence as possible. Support will be provided according to each client's individual needs, preferences and agreed support arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing companionship and emotional support.
• Encouraging and supporting clients to maintain their independence and established daily routines.
• Supporting mobility and encouraging clients to remain active within agreed boundaries and your level of training and competency.
• Preparing meals and drinks and encouraging appropriate nutrition and hydration.
• Supporting clients with shopping, errands and household tasks.
• Accompanying clients to appointments and social or community activities where required.
• Providing medication prompts where this forms part of the agreed support arrangements and is within your training and competency.
• Providing companionship and appropriate non-regulated support to people living with dementia.
• Observing clients' general wellbeing and reporting changes or concerns appropriately.
• Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential records.
• Reporting accidents, incidents or safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Following infection prevention and control procedures.
• Respecting clients' privacy, dignity, choices, beliefs and preferences at all times.
• Working collaboratively with clients, families, colleagues and healthcare professionals where appropriate.
• Following Homewell Plus policies, procedures and agreed ways of working.

Homewell Plus takes an enablement-focused approach to support.

Caregivers should encourage clients to do as much as they safely can for themselves rather than automatically completing tasks for them. This may include encouraging mobility, preparing meals, completing household activities, participating in hobbies and maintaining established routines.

The aim is to provide the right level of support while maintaining the client's independence, confidence and abilities wherever possible.

Safeguarding

All Caregivers have a responsibility to protect clients from abuse, neglect, discrimination and avoidable harm.

You will be expected to recognise potential safeguarding concerns and report them immediately in accordance with Homewell Plus safeguarding procedures.

Previous experience in health or social care is desirable but is not essential where an applicant demonstrates the appropriate values, attitude and willingness to learn.

Recruitment Requirements

Appointment will be subject to Homewell Plus safer recruitment procedures, including appropriate DBS checks, satisfactory references, right-to-work checks, employment history checks, induction and training.
