The Role
We are currently seeking a Renewable Electrician who can join our dynamic team and help us install various renewable systems on different types of properties, as well as carry out O&M servicing and repairs on existing Solar PV arrays. You will be responsible for upholding quality electrical installations in line with manufacturers and TLGEC standards, pre-planning and troubleshooting while on-site is key to ensuring projects are achieved in a timely fashion and meet our client's expectations. Responsibilities
- Renewable Systems Installation: Install renewable components including solar electric PV systems, battery storage, and EV charging solutions.
- Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out safely and in full compliance with current regulations and standards.
- Quality, Time & Cost Control: Complete installations to a high standard, in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with PV Roofers and other team members as required.
- Health & Safety Management: Maintain full H&S compliance in line with corporate policies and legal obligations.
- Technical Knowledge & Training: Keep technical knowledge up to date through company-led and self-driven training.
- Project Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and kept current.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide timely and accurate reporting as directed by management.
- TLGEC & Site Standards: Effectively apply TLGEC methodology and adhere to all site standards.
- Resource & Materials Management: Identify project resource requirements and manage materials efficiently and effectively, maintaining current knowledge of TLGEC methodology, RAMS, and site/project documentation.
What we’re looking for
- Electrical Competence: Competent in all aspects of electrical work, preferably with experience in solar PV, battery storage, and EV installations.
- Electrical Materials Knowledge: Demonstrates strong knowledge of electrical materials, components, and associated equipment.
- Tool Proficiency: Proficient in the safe and effective use of power tools and hand tools commonly used in roofing.
Extra Credit
- Trade Qualification: City & Guilds/NVQ trade qualified (or equivalent) with demonstrable industry experience.
- Site Safety Certification: Holds CSCS certification, with SSSTS and/or SMSTS qualification.
- Working at Height Training: Completed harness training for safe working at height.
- Plant & Equipment Licences: Licensed to operate telehandlers, scissor lifts, and/or FLT equipment.
- Renewables Accreditation: Approved renewable installer with BPEC Solar Installer and Battery Storage qualifications.
- Wiring Regulations (Level 3): Level 3 BS 7671:2018 (City & Guilds).
- Building Regulations (Level 3): Level 3 Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings (City & Guilds).
- Inspection & Testing (Level 3): Level 3 Initial and Fundamental Inspection and Testing (City & Guilds 2394) and Level 3 Periodic Inspection and Testing (City & Guilds 2395).
- PAT & NVQ Qualifications: PAT Testing Level 3 (City & Guilds) and Level 3 NVQ with AM2 (City & Guilds 2356).
- Professional Registration: Part P Domestic Installer Certification, JIB Gold Card ECS Approved Electrician, and JIB Black Electrical Site Managers ECS Card.
