The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in day-to-day financial operations, supporting accurate record keeping, timely reporting, and continuous process improvement. You’ll be involved across core finance activities, including accounts payable and receivable, month-end support, and maintaining reliable financial data. You’ll also act as a point of contact for internal teams and customers, helping to resolve queries and deliver excellent service. This role is ideal for someone organised, driven, and keen to develop their accounting career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations: Perform bank reconciliations (Xero), manage month-end journals (accruals and prepayments), maintain the fixed asset register, and support VAT returns.
  • Accounts Receivable: Raise daily sales invoices, maintain revenue reconciliations, and manage debt collection.
  • Accounts Payable: Process supplier invoices, manage AP using Dext and ApprovalMax, and run controlled monthly payment cycles.
  • Customer Care: Handle invoice queries and resolve billing issues promptly and professionally.
