The Role
GreenGen is seeking a skilled Plumbing & Heating Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and heating systems in residential and commercial properties in South Cornwall and Devon. You’ll diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring all work meets local regulations and high-quality standards. Strong customer service, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Removal of Existing Heating Systems: Safely decommission and remove system and combi boilers with efficiency and care.
- Unvented Hot Water Cylinder Installation: Expert installation of modern unvented hot water cylinders for reliable, high-performance hot water supply.
- Heat Pump Installation: Professional installation of air source and ground source heat pumps, delivering sustainable and energy-efficient heating solutions.
- Heating Controls Setup: Install and configure S-Plan and Y-Plan heating controls to optimize system performance and energy use.
- Radiators & Pipework Upgrades: Upgrade or install radiators and pipework to enhance heating efficiency and system reliability.
- System Testing & Commissioning: Thorough testing, flushing, filling, and commissioning to ensure heating systems operate flawlessly.
- Commitment to Quality & Customer Care: Maintain the highest standards of workmanship and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Travel Across Cornwall & Devon: Flexible travel across Cornwall & Devon, with paid travel time included.
- Overnight Stays When Required: Occasional overnight stays, compensated with enhanced pay for flexibility.
What we’re looking for:
- NVQ Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in plumbing and heating required; Level 3 highly desirable.
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in plumbing and heating installations.
- Heating Systems Knowledge: Solid understanding of domestic heating systems and their components.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication with strong customer-facing abilities.
- Teamwork & Standards: Ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
