About the Role:

We’re looking for a proactive and results-driven QS to lead the successful delivery of renewable energy teams. From residential installations to large-scale commercial developments and ongoing maintenance services, you’ll play a key role in ensuring seamless execution from start to finish. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be working closely with our Operations manager, Project’s teams, and installation teams. We want someone who thrives in a team environment but also takes initiative to drive success and continuously develop their skills. If you have a ‘get stuck in’ attitude and love seeing projects come to life, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Site Management & Supervision: Oversee daily site operations for renewable energy installations, ensuring work is completed to high-quality and safety standards. Conduct audits and site inspections to monitor progress, compliance, and adherence to technical specifications. Address and resolve on-site challenges efficiently to maintain project timelines and deliverables.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance (Qualified Supervisor - QS Responsibilities): Act as the company’s Qualified Supervisor (QS), ensuring all installations comply with industry regulations, legal requirements, and certification standards. Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols on-site, fostering a strong safety culture. Lead safety briefings, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring compliance with HSE and renewable industry best practices. Maintain up-to-date documentation and certifications for compliance with MCS, NICEIC, or equivalent regulatory bodies.
  • Workforce Management, Training & Upskilling: Identify skills gaps within the workforce and implement structured training and upskilling programs to improve technical expertise. Mentor and develop team members, promoting continuous professional growth in renewable energy technologies.
  • Resource & Project Efficiency: Work with the project team to support effective allocation of materials, equipment, and workforce to optimise productivity and cost-effectiveness. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, minimise waste, and ensure sustainability in installations. Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of necessary resources.
  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement: Guarantee all installations meet technical and regulatory standards, ensuring seamless handover and compliance with warranties. Identify and mitigate potential risks, implementing proactive problem-solving strategies. Continuously assess and improve installation processes, incorporating new technologies and methods for enhanced performance.

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive Industry Experience: Brings several years of hands-on installation experience, with the expertise to oversee, verify, and sign off the work of others to the highest standards.
  • NVQ Level 3 Qualified: Holds a recognised Level 3 electrical qualification, demonstrating core technical competence.
  • 2391 Test & Inspection Certified: Experienced in electrical testing, inspection, and certification to industry standards.
  • JIB Gold Card Holder: Fully qualified electrician with a valid JIB Gold Card, evidencing industry-recognised competence.
  • NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (QS): Experienced in overseeing compliance, quality, and electrical certification as a Qualified Supervisor.
  • BPEC Solar & Battery Qualified: Certified to install and commission solar PV and battery storage systems safely and effectively.
  • MCS Responsible Person: Knowledgeable in MCS standards and responsible for ensuring compliant renewable energy installations.
  • Exceptional Organisational Skills: Effectively manages competing priorities, deadlines, and workloads.
  • Outstanding Communication: Communicates clearly and builds strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership & Team Motivation: Leads by example and motivates teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Detail-Oriented & Strategic Thinking: Balances attention to detail with a strategic, solutions-focused approach.
