The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Management Accountant to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in day-to-day financial operations, supporting accurate record keeping, timely reporting, and continuous process improvement. You’ll be involved across core finance activities, including accounts payable and receivable, month-end support, and maintaining reliable financial data. You’ll also act as a point of contact for internal teams and customers, helping to resolve queries and deliver excellent service. This role is ideal for someone organised, driven, and keen to develop their accounting career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations: Perform bank reconciliations (Xero), manage month-end journals (accruals and prepayments), maintain the fixed asset register, and support VAT returns.
- Accounts Receivable: Raise daily sales invoices, maintain revenue reconciliations, and manage debt collection.
- Accounts Payable: Process supplier invoices, manage AP using Dext and ApprovalMax, and run controlled monthly payment cycles.
- Customer Care: Handle invoice queries and resolve billing issues promptly and professionally.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Report to the Managing Director, collaborate with Sales and Operations, and support cross-functional process improvements.
What we’re looking for:
- CIMA / ACCA Part-Qualified Professionals: Looking to connect with individuals currently progressing towards a CIMA or ACCA qualification.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Core Accounting Skills: Experience with bank reconciliations, journals, and ledgers.
- Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with VAT and CIS (desirable).
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and strong organisational skills.
- Communication & Problem-Solving: Clear communication skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Extra Credit:
- CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and HIP (Home Improvement Protection) reporting
- Experience using Xero.
Our Recruitment Process:

- Task & Presentation Interview: A 1-hour session with Financial Controller, including discussion of your previous experience and presentation of a take-home task.
- Final Interview: A 30-minute in-person meeting with our General Manager to explore team alignment, role expectations, and next steps.
