We are looking for senior carers for our 21 bedded home specialising in care for the elderly, dementia and Alzheimer's disease, and high dependency needs for 37.5 to 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting residents with all personal care, person centred needs, toileting, repositioning and feeding.
- Documenting the daily care notes during the shift, using electronic recording device.
- Ensuring that all changes have been noted and where required communicated to the appropriate person, document in the handover report book, or the managers communication book.
- Report to Team leader / Senior on duty.
- Follow written care and risk assessments when delivering person centred care, and document care given.
- Team work in collaboration with work colleagues.
- Attending staff meetings led by the Care Home Manager, and attend all booked and scheduled training and development programs.
- Attending any emergency bell situations where you will assess and treat the resident accordingly. This includes falls, and report falls and document inline with care home policy.
- Check and monitor poorly or high risk residents closely throughout your shift.
- When on shift you are part of the team complement and as such are required to work and assist with all aspects of residents care.
- Handing over to the next shift.
- Writing any changes in medication or changes to residents care.
- Leaving detailed accounts of any new instructions or information for the next day or shift for all staff.
- All falls, complaints and emergency situations will be reported to The Home Manager or Team Leader.
Qualifications:
- NVQ (Adult) Level 2 or above OR equivalent.
- Experience: Care Assistant role for 2 years or more in the similar field.
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS Check and where applicable a check against the DBS First List, required.
