About The Role HomeServe are currently recruiting for a Planning Specialist to join the Service Operations team in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, super organised and an excellent communicator both written and verbal. We work in a hybrid way with a requirement to travel into the Nottingham office 3 times per week to work with your team. With this in mind, you will be located within a convenient commute to Nottingham. The Planning team is responsible for leading the planning and capacity management of all work and resources in the Service Operations business across our Gas, Water and Network Field Operations, ensuring we deliver outstanding service to our customers and a number ofinternal and external stakeholders. The role of Planning Specialist is responsible for the short- and long-term availability and allocation of field resources to meet customer demand. This includes delivering detailed regional demand forecasts and providing robust support (through analysis and continual improvement) to the Field Operations team. Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations are essential for success. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assist with development, implementation, and updates to regional forecast demand and resourcing models. Said models will strategically underpin the majority of downstream field planning activity and routines Create and maintain trade specific engineer rosters, with consideration to trade strategies, geographical footprint, and key engineer engagement items Measure and analyse ROTA and Engineer Performance data and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance service delivery To forecast resource needs more accurately and identify trends that might not be visible through basic analysis, utilise tools like SQL/Python, R, or advanced Excel functions to perform complex data analysis and predictive modelling Assist the Planning Manager in implementing strategic plans for resource allocation that align with long-term organizational goals. Achieve this through ad-hoc analysis, financial and WFM modelling Assist in system analysis and testing activities Presentation of analysis and concepts to Senior stakeholders Communicate effectively with the Field and Dispatch teams to ensure seamless integration of planning and operational processes and provide ongoing support to address any scheduling or resource allocation issues As above use data-driven insights to continuously improve resource allocation, recruitment, and rebalancing strategies Provide daily SME level support to Schedulers; to ensure all elements of Field Planning strategy translate to short and mid-term diary management. This will include managing to the core diary performance requirements; Deliver overall 5 Day lead times for all Priority Types Same Day Capacity for P1 and P2 Jobs Drive productivity and reduce white space Maintain an advanced understanding of HomeServes Field Scheduling and Deployment Software and relate this to all elements of the role Based on changing business needs provide BAU systemconfigurationsupport and execute assignedconfigurationtasks within deadlines. Review and recommend changes to existingconfigurationsettings & processes which will improve Customer, People and Business enhancements Assist in system analysis and testing activities. Communicate effectively with the Field and Dispatch teams to ensure seamless integration of planning and operational processes and provide ongoing support to address any scheduling or resource allocation issues. Deliver appropriate role specific training for other areas of Field planning Ensure compliance with governmental and industry standards and company policies in all planning activities. Incorporating sustainability into resource planning by optimizing resource use to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
