About the role
We are looking for an AI Discovery/Business Analyst Intern to join Homes by Honey (honey). This is initially a three-month fixed term contract working full time (37.5 hours per week) across our Sheffield and Leeds offices. The role is primarily office-based, and candidates should be comfortable travelling between both locations if required. Honey is a new kind of housebuilder with big ambitions and a fresh take on what a home should be. Founded in 2022, we’re a product led Northern Housebuilder building stylish, high-quality homes across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and the Midlands. As of June 2026, we’ve already secured over 32 sites to build nearly 5,000 homes and employed 135 teammates plus each day utilise around 450 sub-contractors on our sites – and we’re just getting started!
This is a rare chance to put AI to work on real business problems — and to see your impact land in weeks, not years. It’s a hands-on role helping the organisation identify, adopt and scale AI solutions. Under the sponsorship of our CFO, you will work directly with the Head of IT to drive adoption, measure impact, and help the whole organisation understand and use AI more effectively. The role provides the opportunity to work directly with our senior leadership, solve meaningful business problems and see the impact of your work quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the CFO and Head of IT to identify, assess and prioritise AI opportunities supporting the design, testing and implementation of solutions that deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality and accelerate delivery.
- Understand and document business processes across those areas and identify where AI can reduce manual effort, improve quality, or accelerate delivery.
- Translate findings and recommendations from those reviews into clear, well-structured communications: briefing documents, presentations, and stakeholder reports.
- Design and test the AI solution that helps to deliver the benefits identified.
- Work with the departmental leaders to implement that AI solution including supporting the design and delivery of the relevant AI training to that department.
- Own the coordination of tasks and progress across any and all AI initiatives supported — tracking progress, chasing actions, and keeping projects moving across multiple workstreams.
- Help scale solutions that work, once a use case lands well in one team, support rollout to others with evidence, adoption plans, and stakeholder materials.
Examples of business areas you may support:
- Supporting our legal team to streamline the home sale-to-handover journey
- Improving how we manage and access house-type designs and technical documentation
- Exploring opportunities to increase the use of AI within finance processes and reporting
- Enhancing how we gather and evaluate information for new land opportunities
What we’re looking for:
- Active user of AI tools — hands-on experience with Claude, Cursor, Notion, or similar productivity tools is essential
- Strong analytical instinct — comfortable working with data (Excel or similar) to break down complex processes, find patterns, build trackers, and produce clean reporting
- Organised and proactive, with a genuine ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment without dropping the ball
- Clear, confident communicator — able to write well and adapt style for different audiences, from a quick Teams message to a C-suite briefing
- Genuinely curious and open to continuous learning — you enjoy figuring things out, pick up new tools quickly, and don’t wait to be told what to explore next
- Studying for, or recently graduated in business, economics, engineering, data, computer science or a related field. We also welcome applications from candidates from other backgrounds who can demonstrate strong analytical skills and hands-on experience using AI tools
What you’ll gain:
- Direct exposure to multiple business functions and senior stakeholders
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying automation and AI solutions in honey
- Deep understanding of process optimisation and automation best practices
- The opportunity to contribute to the development of AI governance, standards, and best practices.
- A portfolio of real AI and automation builds with measurable business impact
