A Message From the Young People Who Will Call This Place Home
Hey you,
We don’t live here yet… but one day we will. Right now, it’s just a house. But soon, it could be something really important, a place where we feel safe, where we’re listened to, where we can laugh, be ourselves, get things wrong sometimes, and still feel cared for. That’s why who comes first really matters. We need someone who leads with kindness. Someone who notices the little things. Someone who helps build a home that feels warm and calm, not just somewhere we stay, but somewhere we belong. Someone who will choose the people who work here carefully, who will make sure we’re understood, and who helps adults around us be patient, supportive, and kind. If you believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and cared about, then maybe you’re exactly who we’ve been waiting for.
Why This Role Is Different
This isn’t just about opening a home. This is about creating somewhere rooted in love-led practice, where relationships, connection, and trust come before everything else. You’ll lead the journey from an empty building to a nurturing, stable home where children can begin to feel safe again, emotionally and physically. You’ll be supported every step of the way by a unique partnership between:
- Homes2Inspire (part of Shaw Trust)
- Somerset Council
- Somerset NHS Foundation Trust
- CAMHS
Together, we are building therapeutic homes that wrap care, health, and education around each child.
Who This Role Could Be Perfect For
We value who you are just as much as what you’ve done. This role could be right for:
- Experienced Registered Managers ready to lead a home where relationships and care come first
- Deputy Managers who are ready to step into their first Registered role, with genuine support, coaching, and belief in your potential
If you lead with empathy, stay curious about behaviour, and believe in doing things with children, not to them, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
You will:
- Create a home that feels safe, calm, and nurturing from the very beginning
- Build and guide a team who are compassionate, reflective, and child-focused
- Embed trauma-informed, relationship-based care into everyday practice
- Help children feel heard, valued, and understood
- Prepare the home for Ofsted registration, ensuring quality and compliance
- Work alongside therapists, education, and health professionals to provide exceptional care
- Lead with warmth, consistency, and emotional intelligence
- Model a culture where staff feel supported, so they can support children
What We Offer
- The opportunity to build a home guided by your values and vision
- A role where relationships matter more than routines

- A strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- The ability to lead with empathy, curiosity, and resilience
- A commitment to reflective practice and continuous learning
- A full UK driving licence (Enhanced DBS will be required and funded.)
