Homes for Students, the UK's largest independent provider of Student Accommodation, is currently seeking a General Manager for The Malt Works in Edinburgh. This isnât your average 9âtoâ5 job; itâs a chance to lead, inspire, and take charge of a thriving student community. Your weekly hours will be 40 per week, working 9:00am â 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
About the Role
As our General Manager, you will be the driving force behind an exceptional student living experience. You will work closely with your team to ensure topânotch customer service in sales, maintenance, and housekeeping. Your leadership will be instrumental in embedding our core values and enabling your team to excel in their roles.
The pinnacle of excitement awaits in September, as you take the reins of the checkâin, checkâout, and room turnaround process. Your outstanding communication skills will shine as you support our new students and efficiently handle any customer or operational issues that arise.

What Weâre Looking For
- Leadership experience in a similar role or environment.
- Strong data presentation and analysis skills.
- Impeccable organisational abilities.
- Team player with the power to lead, inspire, and motivate.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations (desirable but not essential).
- Possess an SCQF Level 6 Certificate in Property Agency (Lettings), or be willing to work towards this qualification as part of our Company Training Agreement and support provided by the company.
