Homes for Students are currently seeking a proactive and highly organised Duty Manager to join our student accommodation team for the busy summer period at our The Pepper Mill Property in Edinburgh working 40 hours per week on a rota basis between Monday and Sunday. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading a team to deliver outstanding customer service.
As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and supervising the Summer Reception Team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the front desk. You will act as a point of escalation for both staff and residents, helping to maintain a welcoming, safe, and efficient environment for all guests.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, support, and motivate the Summer Reception Team, ensuring high standards of performance and professionalism at all times.
- Coordinate daily reception activities, including distributing tasks and managing workloads effectively across the team.
- Oversee daily banking procedures, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper record-keeping.
- Monitor room readiness, working closely with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure rooms are prepared to a high standard and on time for arrivals.
- Act as the first point of contact for escalated queries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure excellent customer service is consistently delivered, creating a positive experience for residents and guests.
- Assist with check-ins, check-outs, bookings, and general reception duties as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of site operations, policies, and procedures.
- Support the training and onboarding of new summer reception staff.
- Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
