A bit about the role...
Working closely in a team led by the Data Protection Officer, the Information Assistant will play a critical role in upholding the Agency’s compliance with information rights and access laws, including the Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information Act 2000. You will be joining our small but enthusiastic and highly skilled team, which is committed to continuously improving and evolving the Agency’s compliance with information rights law and helping the Agency deliver on its strategic objectives.
Our Data Protection Officer is dedicated to delivering first‑class customer service and takes an innovative, creative approach to information rights issues. The Officer believes in working collaboratively and flexibly, valuing diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision‑making and problem‑solving within the team.
This is a rare chance to shape the future of information rights law in a fast‑growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional Information Governance team, combined with our Knowledge and Information Management profession, you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of information requests and have the opportunity to shape and influence our approach to transparency and privacy.
A bit about you…
You\'ll be comfortable supporting the day‑to‑day operations of a busy Information Governance team and supporting the Data Protection Officer and their team with complex information rights and access issues. Knowledge of information rights and access law is desirable but not essential, as you’ll receive full training and support from experienced colleagues. You will have strong organisational skills and a demonstrable ability to prioritise work to strict deadlines.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level, and your discussions will always be shaped by an understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an Information Governance team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
As an Information Governance professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and can demonstrate the ability to work with others as part of a collaborative, inclusive team.
