About the role

Working closely with the Executive Team and leading our Digital function, the Director – Digital will play a critical role in enabling our organisation’s strategic ambitions through high‑quality, user‑centred digital services. You will be joining a forward‑thinking and highly skilled team who are passionate about delivering digital services that improve outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for delivering a step change in our digital capability, service quality and organisational efficiency, translating our digital strategy into clear, measurable outcomes that deliver real value.

You will:

  • Shape and deliver the organisation’s digital strategy aligned to organisational goals and user needs.
  • Lead major digital transformation programmes at pace and scale, ensuring clear benefits realisation.
  • Drive the transition to a product and service‑led operating model.
  • Simplify and modernise the digital estate.
  • Build and lead capability across engineering, architecture, service design and innovation.
  • Ensure services are secure, reliable and aligned with best practice standards.
  • Establish strong governance, performance measures and assurance.

Working with senior stakeholders, including Board‑level colleagues, you will act as a trusted advisor and ambassador for digital, embedding data‑driven decision making and continuous improvement.

A bit about you

You’ll be an experienced and inclusive digital leader, comfortable operating at executive level within a complex organisation. You will bring:

  • A proven track record of leading large digital functions and delivering transformation programmes.
  • Experience shaping and delivering digital strategies.
  • Strong understanding of modern platforms, architectures and cloud technologies.
  • The ability to translate strategy into user‑centred services.
  • Experience building and leading high‑performing teams.

You will also:
