Head of Infrastructure Grant Transactions – Overview

Join to apply for the Head of Infrastructure Grant Transactions role at Homes England.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a small team of Transaction Senior Managers and Managers to carry out transaction structuring, technical due diligence work, drafting approval papers and contracting activity for grant funding agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Infrastructure Grants Transactions and the Heads of Transactions to achieve the Infrastructure Grants Transactions team business plan objectives.
  • Work with key partners – Local Authorities, other public sector bodies and private sector organisations – and with colleagues in other Homes England Directorates to review opportunities and constructively check and challenge proposals.
  • Establish a pipeline of suitable projects in liaison with the Markets, Partners and Places Directorate.
  • Travel nationally to visit sites/meet project partners and spend time with team members across Homes England offices, with regular face-to-face meetings with senior leadership (as appropriate).

What we look for / Qualifications
  • Experience in delivery of key infrastructure to support development and regeneration in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience line managing, mentoring and coaching teams; comfortable supporting staff through change and complex partner relationships and projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships, and to structure funding support for residential-led development projects, conduct technical due diligence, develop proposals and negotiate grant funding agreements.
  • Resilience and comfort in senior-level stakeholder discussions with a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of the Infrastructure Grants Transactions team.
  • Experience as an Economic Development, Regeneration, Surveying, Planning or similar professional with experience in development, financial viability appraisals, project cashflows, cost analysis and deliverability.
