A bit about the role... The Evaluation Manager role is part of an ambitious team of 17 economists, researchers, market analysts, and geospatial experts, delivering high quality research and analysis to help the agency deliver social and economic impact. Playing a crucial part in supporting this wider analytical function, the role will be focused on embedding evaluation research within Homes England decision making and strategy development, including through:

  • Delivery of the agency's ambitious evaluation programme, which seeks to evidence the impact the agency has and learn lessons for improving future delivery;
  • Delivery of in-depth evaluative research and analysis on a broad range of topics for delivery teams and to inform strategy development;
  • Supporting the procurement and contract management of major research and analysis studies, including programme and scheme evaluations and other research studies.

The role will support the wider team to complete their outputs to the highest standard, working collaboratively and supportively across the wider Research, Economics and Geospatial (REG) function, as a critical friend to strategic research and analysis.

A bit about you… You will be resilient and used to “spinning several plates” at once with demonstrable experience of working across teams and managing internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative, inclusive way. You will be interested in regeneration and housing and ambitious in delivering high quality research and analysis, and in particular evaluation, that can help the agency to deliver real impact for the housing market and communities we serve. You will be comfortable working on a range of projects as well as helping the team to implement our varied and exciting research and evaluation programme - all to ensure the agency's decision making is based on robust evidence and delivers maximum value for money for society. Existing knowledge of the housing sector is desirable, but we are looking for transferable research and analytical skills and a real desire to help find new innovative ways to improve our service to Homes England colleagues and wider stakeholders.
