About the role... The Senior Manager - Financial Reporting and Accounting will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate accounting, financial reporting and regulatory compliance of Homes England. The role will support the preparation and delivery of high-quality financial statements, oversee the accounting treatment of complex transactions, and ensure that financial information is reported in accordance with applicable accounting standards, government reporting requirements and best practice. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Finance function and the wider organisation, the postholder will contribute to the development and maintenance of a strong financial control environment, drive improvements in reporting processes and governance arrangements, and provide expert technical accounting guidance to support the accurate recording and reporting of business activities.
About you… You will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate. As an experienced finance professional, you’ll understand how to work as part of a team in a productive, collaborative and inclusive way. You'll be comfortable working with colleagues of all levels across finance and supporting the business with complex accounting issues. You will have strong technical accountancy knowledge, including IFRS and excellent report writing skills with the ability to tailor to audiences with varying finance experience. Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as Finance team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade. As an experienced finance professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way. You will hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA.
