The successful candidate can choose to be based at any of our offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, or Northstowe. The role requires 50% office attendance, with flexibility around this. However, attendance at on-site meetings in Cambridge (around 20 times per year) is essential, and travel expenses for these visits will be covered.

A bit about the role…

Working as part of Homes England\’s central Governance team, led by Peter Judge, our Company Secretary and Assistant Director – Governance, you as the Assistant Company Secretary – Cambridge will play a critical role in supporting the Cambridge Growth Company (CGC), a subsidiary of Homes England, during its formative stages and beyond.

You will be joining our small but highly skilled and experienced Governance team, who are committed to making positive contributions and continual improvements to how we manage our key decision-making.

We believe in delivering a first-class customer service, excellent delivery and taking an innovative and creative approach to delegation and governance issues. This includes working in a collaborative/flexible way to foster good decision making and problem solving within the team and across the Agency.

This is a rare chance to shape the future governance structures in a fast-growing project with real social purpose and a lasting impact.

Working with key stakeholders and as part of a professional team, you will help ensure an effective secretariat and governance service to the CGC Chair, Board, the Executive and committees, including the CGC\’s advisory council. As a full part of the Homes England Governance Team, you will also have the opportunity to support Homes England\’s wider governance at its group of companies.
