Overview

Senior Manager – Contracting New Business at Homes England. Location: Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle or Northstowe. This role sits within Homes England’s Affordable Housing Programme. You will join a small, dedicated team to shape and deliver the Social and Affordable Homes Programme as Homes England moves to a regional and place-based operating model. The role involves developing, supporting and implementing the contractual framework underpinning the Affordable Housing Grant programmes, and working with government and partners across the sector to launch the new programme and deliver existing commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, support and implement the contractual framework underpinning the Affordable Housing Grant programmes, in collaboration with the Head of Provider Services New Business and the team.
  • Design and deliver key strategic projects around social and affordable housing; balance day-to-day delivery with innovative solutions to the contracts of the Affordable Housing Grant programme.
  • Resolve Grant Agreement related queries and contract breaches; help create effective solutions to support delivery of the Affordable Housing Grant programme.
  • Support the design and delivery of key strategic projects; manage day-to-day delivery while bringing innovative contracting solutions.
  • Lead and steer partners to agreed solutions; manage senior-level stakeholders and ensure outcomes are robust and deliverable.
  • Provide first-class customer service to stakeholders; resolve issues informally where possible; work in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
  • Support Homes England’s transition to a regional/place-based operating model and contribute to shaping how we work with partners.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Experienced housing professional with the ability to manage colleagues and work as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
  • Proven ability to manage, plan and prioritise workload; strong organisational and project management skills; capable of delivering robust and deliverable outcomes.
  • Drive and confidence to lead and steer partners to agreed solutions and see them through to implementation.
  • Resilient with experience engaging with stakeholders at a senior level; understanding the commercial and operational impact of activities within an affordable housing team.
  • Knowledge of Grant Agreements, related contract documents and relevant legislation.
