Vacancy:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Bicester, Oxfordshire. We have full time, permanent opportunities in our 2 bedded and 3 bedded childrens residential homes, where you will play a crucial role in supporting and mentoring young people who live within our homes, helping them to navigate challenges and achieve their personal goals.
Our team are there to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and young people throughout the night, supporting with their night-time routines, manage incidents should they occur, provide assistance should the children wake up or require support during the night, maintaining records and ensuring a thorough handover to the day shift.
Night shifts operate from 9pm until 8am on a 5 on 5 off rota.
We do not offer sponsorship.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for Waking Night Support Worker:
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, offering emotional and practical support to make them feel safe and valued.
- Help children settle for bedtime and assist with morning routines, ensuring a smooth transition from night to day.
- Maintain a secure environment by conducting regular checks, being vigilant about their safety and well-being throughout the night.
- Be there for children who may wake up during the night, providing calm, comforting support to ease any anxieties.
- Support with daily living activities and medication administration as required.
- Organising and participating in recreational activities.
- Creating a safe and welcoming environment.
- Building positive nurturing relationships with vulnerable young people with complex needs.
- Empower and motivate young people to achieve their goals and overcome difficult emotions and behaviours.
- Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere within the home.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in your care.
- Help children create lasting, positive memories through special activities and nurturing care.
