We are looking for a full-time, permanent Service Support Co-ordinator to work with our care leavers team in Northampton, NN1, which provides supported accommodation services for young people aged between 17 and 21.
As a Service Support Co-ordinator, you will provide onsite support for young people who live in our service, being the first port of call for immediate advice, guidance and signposting to other key workers or agencies.
Hours of work / shifts: The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Staff will be required to work 12-hour shifts from: 0800-2000 and 2000-0800. You will work every other weekend and work 3 days one week and 4 days on another week.
The Role: As a Service Support Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Providing a full administrative service so that the needs of the functional/departmental team are met.
- Maintaining effective work systems, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation is dealt with in a professional manner that meets audit requirements.
- Maintaining comprehensive stocks of all forms and documentation required by the function/department so that it is available when required.
- Collating, producing and distributing regular and ad-hoc statistics and reports so that individuals and departments receive accurate up-to-date information.
- Facilitating key work sessions with young people to achieve required outcomes against their pathway/care plan.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people based at provision, carrying out daily health and safety checks and monitoring visitors.
- Working directly with the young people in supporting them to gain the skills to carry out practical tasks, ensuring young people take responsibility for hygiene, day-to-day chores and preparing meals.
- Being flexible within your work patterns to meet the need and support positive outcomes.
- Ensuring the protection and safeguarding of the wellbeing of the young people in our care.
- Monitoring CCTV and visitors coming into the building.
What You'll Bring:
- Preferably have a minimum of 12 months experience working with children and young people or in a care setting, however, this is not essential.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Honesty, empathy, and a commitment to being a positive role model.
