About the Home: Magnolia House is a three-bedded children’s residential home located in Bicester, Oxfordshire. Recognised by Ofsted as Outstanding, the home is led by an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager who ensures consistently high standards of care. Magnolia House supports children and young people up to the age of 18, providing a safe, nurturing, and stable environment. The team offers both emotional and practical support, helping each young person develop essential life skills, build confidence, and work towards positive, lasting outcomes.
The Role: As a Deputy Home Manager, you will:
- Work alongside the Home Manager, to manage all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home.
- Promote the safeguarding of the young people's welfare, promoting education and diversity to ensure individual needs are met, in line with Ofsted regulations and company requirements.
- Coach, support and develop staff to maximise their performance and ensure high standards of care are met.
- Liaise with other departments and external agencies to ensure that the young people receive appropriate plans and programmes that meet their needs and the needs of the Contract.
- Participate in the risk assessment during admissions process to ensure that the immediate vulnerability and risk of the young person is determined accurately.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture to meet and maintain company and external accreditation standards.
- Demonstrate to young people, through pro-social modelling, the value of education and care, and the ability to develop skills to maximise positive behaviour, and transition into adulthood.
- Form trusting, respectful, boundaries, professional relationships with young people, in order that they respond and react appropriately to information and guidance.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed to a high standard, within required timescales and communicated effectively, in order to comply with the Contract and Company Policies and Procedures.
- Support the senior management team in the implementation of development strategies promoting a positive approach to ensure the change process is embraced.
Hours of Work: You will be required to work 40 hours per week, as a Deputy Manager within the home, you will be required to work shifts or sleep ins when needed to meet the needs of the home. You will also be required to participate in the on call for the cluster.
What You’ll Bring:
- Previous experience working with children and young people in a leadership role in a residential or similar setting is essential.
- Hold QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
- A full UK Driving Licence is preferable.

- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
