The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 ÂŁ per year.

The post holder will primarily be based in a special school, working under the direction of the School Nurse and Team Leader. They will be responsible for measuring and recording the height and weight of pupils as required, and for administering medication in accordance with agreed protocols.

The post holder will also be expected to undertake delegated tasks following appropriate training and competency-based assessment, under the supervision of a Special School Staff Nurse or other Community Children’s Nurse.

As a member of the Community Children’s Nursing Team, the post holder will support the delivery of a high-quality healthcare service to meet the needs of school-aged children within the school setting.

  • To work under the direction of the Special School Nurse or Team Leader
  • To support the Special School Nurse in ensuring care plans are up to date
  • To support the Special School Nurse in delivering training programmes to school staff
  • To demonstrate evidence based/ best practice considering own clinical confidence and competence
  • To demonstrate the skills required by identifying own learning needs in line with the curriculum and practice experience. Undertaking activities to seek out and coordinate experiences to meet these learning needs in collaboration with the Special School Nurse/ Team Leader
  • To manage and take responsibility for delegated work using own initiative, and prioritise and organise workload in order to meet requirements
