We are now hiring for a Mechanical Fitter (Factory Based) to join the team in Dumfries, Scotland. Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems through both reactive and proactive maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform both reactive and planned maintenance tasks across site facilities, prioritising safety and regulatory compliance.
- Service and maintain a diverse range of mechanical plant equipment and process machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns on all plant and process equipment, minimising downtime and ensuring continuous operations.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, promoting safety, compliance, and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
- Proactively identify and report safety or operational issues to line management to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Occasionally support wider team activities during planned production changeovers or scheduled outages, which may occur outside normal working hours.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience working with manufacturing process plant equipment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, process pipework, and air-handling equipment.
- Experienced individual who enjoys a structured working week standard 37.5 hours, with flexibility to work occasional overtime when required.
