Site Services Engineer

Location: Dumfries, Scotland

Reporting to: Operations Team

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Services Engineer to join our team on site in Dumfries.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining essential utilities and site services equipment, ensuring they perform reliably and efficiently to support manufacturing operations.

About The Role

This role is ideal for a proactive and hands‑on engineer who enjoys fault‑finding, problem‑solving, and ensuring critical site services and utilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations and contributing to the ongoing success of a well‑established engineering business.

The Role

The Site Services Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of site services and utilities across the facility. The successful candidate will ensure the reliable operation of plant room equipment, compressed air systems, water treatment processes, and other critical infrastructure, while supporting compliance, safety, and operational efficiency requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair site services and utility equipment.
• Support plant room systems, pumps, compressors, pipework, and effluent treatment equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete planned maintenance, inspections, and compliance checks.
• Support statutory compliance activities, including legionella, fire, and sprinkler systems.
• Work with contractors and promote safe working practices.

Skills & Experience

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Experience maintaining industrial utilities, plant, or site services equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of pumps, compressors, pipework, and plant room equipment.
• Understanding of health, safety, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with colleagues and contractors.

We are a well‑known and respected mechanical engineering business offering design, fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance services. We are renowned for our repair and maintenance service offering, providing a range of on‑and off‑site services, including maintenance service programmes, fitting work around shutdown windows and quieter periods to minimise disruption to the client's operations.

We work with clients to provide bespoke design solutions with a team of highly qualified and experienced engineers working from an extensive site, including a fabrication shop, metalwork, milling, lathe, roller and compressor equipment. Our business is approved for welding and specialises in fabricating steelwork, tanks, vessels, pipework and machinery.

Our services include engineering design and solutions, fabrication, machining, milling, turning and grinding and using computer‑aided design (CAD), 2D drawing and 3D modelling. We work with clients to understand requirements and to solve problems, offering appropriate solutions.
