Overview

A family based in Sevenoaks is looking for an experienced, discreet and highly trustworthy Part-Time Child-Friendly Housekeeper to support their family home.

This is a predominantly housekeeping role for someone who can take ownership of the domestic workload and help keep the home consistently clean, calm and organised. The family has three young boys and is looking for someone naturally warm and comfortable around children who is also happy to provide occasional childcare and babysitting when required.

The family particularly values discretion and trust. They would like someone reliable, organised and respectful of their privacy who can work independently and use initiative, while also following instructions carefully and responding well to direction and feedback.

The position is initially offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis due to the possibility of a work-related relocation next year. This is not yet confirmed, and there is also the possibility of the position extending beyond the initial 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping and Laundry

• General housekeeping and upkeep of the family home
• Keeping the home consistently clean, tidy and organised
• Deep-cleaning projects as required
• Managing family laundry from washing and drying through to ironing, folding and putting away
• Making beds and changing bed linen
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the home

Childcare, Dog Care and Family Support

• Occasional care of the children when required, including looking after the youngest child for short periods
• Occasional babysitting by prior arrangement
• Dog walking and caring for the family's two dogs as required

Requirements

• Previous professional housekeeping experience within a private family home
• Excellent housekeeping skills with high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail
• Discreet, honest and trustworthy
• Highly organised, reliable and punctual
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Able to follow instructions carefully and respond well to direction and feedback
• Confident managing family laundry and ironing
• Happy undertaking both everyday housekeeping and deeper cleaning projects
• Warm, calm and patient around young children
• Happy to provide occasional childcare and babysitting
• Animal lover and completely comfortable caring for and walking dogs
• Respectful of the family's belongings, routines and preferred ways of doing things
• Driver with own car required
• Enhanced DBS and First Aid certification, or willing to obtain

Benefits
