Part-time Family Assistant role for a busy but warm and informal family with two older children. The role is approximately 60% housekeeping and 40% childcare support, with a strong focus on cooking, laundry, household organisation and light household admin. The family are preparing for a home refurbishment and are seeking a proactive, organised and capable individual who can support both day-to-day household management and ongoing reorganisation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping (Approx. 60%)
- Cooking evening meals for the family
- Managing household laundry, including school kit and uniforms
- Keeping the home clean, tidy and well organised
- Organising cupboards and storage areas
- Preparing items for charity and resale
- Supporting household organisation during the renovation period
- Liaising with tradespeople and suppliers as needed
- Selling items via online resale platforms
- General household admin support
Childcare Support (Approx. 40%)
- Supporting the children after school while parents are working
- Ensuring homework is completed
- Providing a calm, friendly and supportive presence
- Assisting with evening routines where needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in a housekeeping, nanny or family assistant or similar household support role
- Strong English skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable with household admin and organisation tasks
- Proactive, trustworthy and reliable
- Friendly, calm and unflappable with a positive attitude
- Confident working as part of a team with the parents
- Happy to support older children with light homework
- Driver preferred but not essential
