A warm and welcoming couple are seeking an experienced, trustworthy and proactive Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their two Surrey homes, with the option to take on some additional organisational support if desired. This is a part-time, long-term role based between a larger family home in Coldharbour near Dorking and a smaller cottage in Shere near Guildford, located approximately 15 to 20 minutes apart.
The role is primarily housekeeping-led, focused on maintaining both properties to a high standard, while also offering scope for light household organisation and practical support depending on the strengths of the successful candidate. This is a particularly nice opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently and being trusted to get on with their role. The principals split their time between the two homes, so the successful candidate will often be working in a property that has just been vacated, preparing it to a high standard for their return or for visiting family and friends.
The household is informal and friendly, and the clients are looking for someone warm, capable and dependable who will become a valued and trusted support over the long term.
Key Responsibilities- Full housekeeping across both properties, including cleaning, tidying and maintaining presentation
- Laundry, ironing and bed changing to a high standard
- Keeping both homes organised and running smoothly on a day-to-day basis
- Preparing the homes for the principals' return, and for visits from family and friends
- Shopping and running errands
- Liaising with tradespeople and overseeing access when required
- Helping to oversee the homes while the principals are away
- Supporting with light household organisation and practical arrangements as needed
For the right candidate, there may also be scope for additional hours and higher pay if they would like to take on further household admin, such as tracking renewals, booking appointments or similar practical tasks.
Requirements- Previous private household housekeeping experience
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of housekeeping
- Comfortable working independently and using initiative
- Organised, practical and reliable
- Warm, friendly and trustworthy
- Driver with own car, essential due to the locations of the properties
- Long-term, permanent role with returning HomeOrganisers clients
- A calm, adult household with no childcare or pet responsibilities
- A high level of trust and independence in the role
- Flexible approach to finding the right person, with no pressure on immediate start
- Scope to shape the role slightly around the strengths of the successful candidate
