Overview
A warm and welcoming multi-generational family is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to help maintain their lovely, detached home in Ockley, Surrey, near Dorking.
This is a long-term permanent position, working one full weekday per week (approximately eight hours). Friday is the preferred working day, although there is flexibility for the right candidate.
The successful Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining the regularly used areas of this spacious family home to a consistently high standard, ensuring everything is clean, organised and running smoothly. The role is focused on the lived-in areas of the property, with only two bedrooms in regular use.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes genuine pride in their work and is looking for a friendly household where their contribution will be genuinely appreciated.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintaining the regularly used areas of the home to an exceptional standard
- Cleaning and caring for the kitchen and bathrooms, ensuring they remain spotless and well organised
- Dusting, vacuuming and mopping throughout the lived-in areas of the home
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
- Keeping the home tidy, organised and running smoothly
- Monitoring household supplies and advising when items need replenishing
- Occasional food preparation
- Running occasional local errands if required
- Caring for the family's three friendly small dogs during the working day when needed
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working as a Housekeeper within a private household
- Be organised, proactive and able to work independently
- Have excellent attention to detail and take genuine pride in maintaining high housekeeping standards
- Be trustworthy, reliable, discreet and professional
- Have a friendly, positive and flexible approach
- Hold a full driving licence and have use of their own car
- Competitive salary of £25.00 gross per hour
- One full working day each week
- Preferred Friday working day with flexibility for the right candidate
