Position: Support Worker – Criminal Justice
Location: Taunton (with travel across Somerset within a 30‑mile radius)
Hours: 25 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £17,466.66 per year (full time equivalent £26,200)
Responsibilities:
- As a Support Worker within the Criminal Justice Service, you will provide support and advocacy to individuals leaving prison who have recently experienced homelessness.
- Managing referrals and completing needs and risk assessments.
- Developing tailored support plans and working with agencies such as the National Probation Service, Police and other support agencies.
- Assisting clients with benefit claims, budgeting, and tenancy coaching.
- Ensuring accommodation meets health and safety standards.
- Maintaining clear, timely records and contributing to reporting for partners and funders.
- Participating in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults and/or people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
