Additional information: Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota. Participation on the first-responder system (emergency cover) at our homeless hostel. This is a part-time position, primarily during office hours, with flexibility to work three days per week (Monday–Friday).
About the Role
As a Young Adults Work Coach, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real, lasting difference in the lives of young people. You’ll support individuals who may be facing complex challenges to take positive steps forward helping them build confidence, gain new skills, and move towards meaningful employment, training, or education. At the heart of this role is building genuine, supportive relationships. Through one-to-one coaching, you’ll take the time to truly understand each person’s journey, creating tailored, person-centred plans that reflect their goals, strengths, and aspirations. You’ll be there to encourage, motivate, and champion them every step of the way. This is more than a job, it’s a chance to help break the cycle of homelessness and open doors to brighter futures. With a strong focus on personal development, volunteering, and learning opportunities, you’ll empower young people to grow in confidence, feel included, and believe in what they can achieve.
What you’ll be doing
- Build positive, supportive working relationships with young adults ages 18-25, working closely with them and partner organisations to identify meaningful activities that align with their personal goals and aspirations.
- Actively seek out and develop pathways into employment, education, and training by building strong links with internal teams and external partners.
- Provide encouragement, motivation and mentoring to individuals who may have complex or challenging needs.
- Take a proactive, flexible approach to overcoming barriers by signposting, and where needed, accompanying clients to specialist services.
