You Matter and Turner Liverpool have partnered to create a unique and rewarding opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Officer to lead and shape communications across both organisations. This is an ideal role for an experienced communications professional who is ready to step into a broad post allowing you to work with senior management to shape the role into the future.

What your week may look like

Working across both charities, you will be the lead communications professional, responsible for internal and external communications. You will work closely with both senior leadership teams to shape priorities, and ensure that our communications consistently reflect our individual values, brands and strategic directions. From developing compelling content and managing media relationships to supporting events and maintaining our digital presence, you will play a central role in telling the story of our work, our impact and the communities we serve.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is confident, organised and enjoys working with people. You will have strong communication skills and be comfortable adapting your style for different audiences and channels. You will be a good writer with a strong eye for detail, able to turn complex or sensitive information into clear and engaging content. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in the charity sector and or community organisations.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in a communications, PR or media role
  • A formal qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related subject, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • An understanding of media relations and the current media landscape
  • Experience creating content for digital and social media platforms
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work across multiple projects

What is a nice to have

  • Experience working in the charity sector
  • Understanding of social policy
