Are you someone who takes pride in creating clean, well-managed spaces that help others feel welcome and safe? Do you enjoy making a visible impact through your work every single day? Strides is looking for a reliable, motivated Housekeeper to help maintain high standards across our community hubs and housing services in London. You’ll join a small, friendly team working closely with the Soft Facilities Manager to deliver both scheduled and reactive cleaning duties – from community spaces and counselling rooms to residential settings.

You’ll be based mainly at Katherine Price Hughes House in Highbury or Wincott Street in Lambeth, but flexibility to support our wider London property portfolio is key.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Delivering high-quality cleaning services and room turnarounds.
  • Supporting residents and service users by creating safe, hygienic environments.
  • Working flexibly across weekdays (with occasional weekend cover).
  • Maintaining compliance with COSHH and health & safety procedures.
  • Keeping records updated and reporting maintenance issues where needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in domestic or commercial cleaning.
  • A good understanding of COSHH and health & safety (or a willingness to learn).
  • Friendly, respectful communication skills – especially with diverse communities.
  • IT skills to update cleaning records and systems.
  • A commitment to our values and inclusive Christian ethos.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Carbon literacy, experience in residential/community buildings, and strategies for handling challenging behaviours.

At Strides, we’re bridging the gap in support services – and that starts with clean, welcoming places where people feel safe to grow. If you care about making a difference through the power of well-maintained spaces, we’d love to hear from you.

The hours are Monday to Thursday and Saturday (Friday and Sunday off) 9.00am to 4.00pm with 30 mins lunch break 35 hours per week (our normal week is 36.5).
