About Alongside
Alongside is the new name for Julian House. We work with people experiencing social exclusion across the South and West of England, providing outreach, accommodation and support. Our clients may be sleeping rough, fleeing abuse, rebuilding after trauma, leaving prison, recovering from addiction, or trying to settle safely in a new community. Whatever their starting point, we work alongside people to help build safety, stability and independence.
About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate and dynamic leader to oversee our supported accommodation services across Devon, ensuring the delivery of consistently high quality, safe and person-centred accommodation. The role will take responsibility for several discrete projects, including 23 units for medium support need clients. You will be responsible for at least 4 members of staff, ensuring the safe running of these 23 units across 10 properties located in Exeter.
In this role, you'll take the lead in delivering high-quality, person-centred support. From maintaining health & safety standards to working closely with referral agencies and maximising occupancy, you'll be at the heart of creating a stable and supportive environment for those who need it most.
What you'll be doing
- Provide leadership, develop and maintain vision, planning and direction that meet statutory and organisational quality standards while prioritising the needs of our service users.
- Lead the team to provide a trauma-informed approach to those in Alongside supported accommodation, empowering them to identify and develop strengths and realise personal goals.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of any relevant buildings, including maintenance and safety issues, ensuring that regular inspections are completed and records maintained.
- Establish effective productive relationships with key stakeholders across Devon.
- Managing and monitoring KPI’s to reflect accurate and effective Support Plans and Risk Assessments.
Please note: Job descriptions are not exhaustive, and the successful candidate may occasionally be asked to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the responsibilities of the role.
What we're looking for
- Experience of staff management, including knowledge of recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, training, discipline and grievance issues and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults and/or people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Assessment, planning and caseload management of complex needs clients.
- Full driving licence and access to own car for work purposes.
There are many great reasons to join our team!
- Access to our Rewards Platform, which includes an Employee Assistance Programme and Health Cash Plan.
- 27 days annual leave, including an extra day off for your birthday, plus bank holidays - increasing to 30 days after four years' continuous service.
- 30% staff discount at our charity shops.
- A generous and competitive pension scheme.
- Great opportunities for career development and free monthly training sessions from experienced facilitators.
- Blue Light Card eligibility, offering discounts on thousands of brands.
- A supportive culture where staff feedback is valued and regular supervisions are encouraged.
- Reflective Practice sessions facilitated by external professionals.
