A fantastic opportunity for a Youth Engagement Facilitator to help bring youth participation to life across schools and colleges in Brighton & Hove. As part of our Youth Engagement Team you will deliver engaging sessions in primary schools, secondary schools and colleges, supporting young people to improve mental health and wellbeing, amplify their voices and drive meaningful change that benefits the wider school community.
Responsibilities
- Deliver 8–10 sessions per school between September and July, working with the same cohort of students throughout the academic year.
- Empower young people to champion mental health, strengthen student voice and lead positive changes that improve wellbeing within their school community.
- Facilitate face‑to‑face sessions that are engaging, inclusive and respect safeguarding policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience of working directly with young people, facilitating youth groups and/or youth‑led projects.
- Good understanding of the mental health and wellbeing challenges that affect young people.
- Demonstrable experience of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Pay and Hours
Flexible, term‑time role offering a minimum of 3 hours per fortnight at £16.32 per hour, with opportunities to increase hours by supporting multiple schools across our network of 10 schools. Sessions take place during school hours on the same day and time each fortnight, with schedules arranged to fit around facilitators’ existing commitments.
