About Alongside

Alongside is the new name for Julian House. We work with people experiencing social exclusion across the South and West of England, providing outreach, accommodation and support. Our clients may be sleeping rough, fleeing abuse, rebuilding after trauma, leaving prison, recovering from addiction, or trying to settle safely in a new community. Whatever their starting point, we work alongside people to help build safety, stability and independence.

If you’d like a real sense of job satisfaction, great career prospects and a competitive benefits package, you could be who we’re looking for!

About the Role

As Team Leader, you’ll take the reins of day‑to‑day service delivery, playing a central role in shaping a high‑performing, motivated team. This is your opportunity to lead from the front, empowering staff, championing best practice, and ensuring every client receives outstanding, person‑centred support. You’ll build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and external partners, driving meaningful progress and delivering real, lasting outcomes for the people we support.

Based at our office in Bath, you’ll also be out and about in the community, representing the service and connecting with key partners. No two days will be the same – this is a dynamic, fast‑paced role where you’ll lead impactful outreach and support services that truly make a difference.

It’s a role that’s both challenging and incredibly rewarding. You’ll navigate complex situations, overcome setbacks, and confidently handle conflict when it arises. Change may not happen overnight, but with patience, persistence, and a creative approach, you’ll help drive long‑term, life‑changing outcomes. Your resilience, passion, and ability to inspire others will be key to thriving in this exciting leadership position.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver hands‑on outreach sessions, including early mornings and evenings, connecting with individuals sleeping rough in the local area.
  • Provide tailored advice and guidance, empowering clients to access appropriate services and secure accommodation.
  • Lead, support and develop a team through regular supervision, performance management, and development reviews.
  • Build and nurture strong partnerships with internal teams and key external stakeholders. Including local authorities, probations services, and commissioners.
  • Champion effective multi‑agency working, collaborating closely with external partners to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Please note: Job descriptions are not exhaustive, and the successful candidate may occasionally be asked to take on other duties that align with the key responsibilities outlined.

  • A generous and competitive pension scheme
  • A supportive culture where staff feedback is highly valued and regular supervisions with line managers are conducted
