Contract: 12 hours or 18 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

To support lifelong learning and inclusion across Community Learning services, holiday provision and social activities by enabling individuals to access meaningful, person-centred opportunities that promote independence, life skills, wellbeing, volunteering and the development of positive social connections.

To work alongside colleagues in delivering engaging learning experiences that support individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism to achieve their personal goals, participate within their local communities and become active and valued citizens.

Activity Learning Support Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of community learning, holiday provision and social activities that promote personal development, independence and community inclusion, working across all locations.
  • Encourage and support individuals to participate fully in activities, volunteering opportunities and community-based learning experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all individuals are engaged in meaningful learning, social or wellbeing activities from arrival to departure, including welcoming, transition and end-of-day activities.
  • Provide person-centred support that enables individuals to make choices, express their views and achieve their identified outcomes.
  • Support individuals to work towards their RARPA targets and contribute evidence of progress and achievement.
  • Assist in the preparation of resources, materials and environments to ensure activities are accessible, engaging and meaningful.
  • Promote and reinforce the development of life skills, communication skills, social skills and independent living skills.
  • Support individuals to build and maintain positive relationships and meaningful connections within their local communities.
  • Work alongside Activities Leaders and the Community Learning Manager to ensure activities are purposeful, inclusive and aligned with individuals’ aspirations.
  • Drive Homefield vehicles, including the community minibus, where appropriately licensed and authorised, to support members to access learning, volunteering, social and community-based activities.
  • Follow individual passports and risk assessments to ensure safe and effective support.
  • Collect and process evidence of members’ progress electronically
  • Identify and report any safeguarding, wellbeing or health and safety concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, carers and external professionals to support positive outcomes for individuals.
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating Homefield’s values of Equality, Empowerment, Respect and Sustainability in everyday practice.
