About Us
We’re HomeCooks, a fast-growing food startup reinventing how people eat at home. Our meals are chef-made, balanced, and designed for real life. We operate across both D2C and retail, and we’re building one of the most ambitious food businesses in the UK. We’re a lean, high-performance team that uses technology and AI heavily to move fast and scale intelligently. This is a chance to join at a pivotal stage of growth and play a major role in shaping how the business operates long term.
The Role
This is a high ownership operations role sitting at the centre of the business. Reporting directly to the COO, you will take responsibility for helping scale HomeCooks operationally across supply chain, fulfilment, logistics, customer experience, systems, and warehouse operations. This is not a corporate middle-management role. We’re looking for someone who can both execute and build — someone comfortable solving urgent operational issues one moment, then improving systems and processes for long-term scale the next. You’ll work closely with suppliers, chefs, warehouse teams, couriers, customer operations, and technology systems to ensure the business runs smoothly as we continue to grow rapidly.
What You’ll Do
- Operations & Supply Chain
- Manage day-to-day supply chain across chefs, suppliers, and production partners
- Maintain food safety and temperature-controlled delivery standards
- Build strong supplier relationships and manage operational performance
- Monitor product quality, consistency, and availability
- Improve forecasting, production planning, and stock flow
- Lead and optimise warehouse and fulfilment operations
- Improve picker-packer processes, fulfilment accuracy, and efficiency
- Solve operational issues quickly and proactively
- Help build scalable warehouse systems as the business grows
- Manage courier relationships and delivery performance
- Reduce failed deliveries, refunds, and operational friction
- Improve the end-to-end customer experience
- Build scalable customer service and operational processes
- Manage operational systems across Shopify, subscriptions, inventory, and fulfilment
- Ensure SKUs, bundles, subscriptions, and product setups are accurate
- Build reporting and operational dashboards
- Use AI tools and automation to improve efficiency and workflows
- Track key operational KPIs across fulfilment, delivery, waste, and customer experience
- Monitor inventory, margins, and operational costs
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
- Support launches, operational scaling, and new product development
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in food, QSR, logistics, fulfilment, or D2C operations
- Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple moving parts
- Commercially minded with strong operational instincts
- Comfortable with Shopify, systems, spreadsheets, and operational tooling
- Interested in AI tools and operational automation
- Hands-on, proactive, and biased toward action
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
- London-based and able to travel when required
Why Join
- Play a major role in scaling a fast-growing startup from the inside
- Work directly with senior leadership and have real ownership
- Help shape the systems and operations behind a rapidly growing consumer brand
- Learn fast, build meaningful experience, and grow with the company
- Be part of a business with ambitious plans across retail, D2C, and technology
