Your role will involve supporting him in pursuing his interests, such as visiting the cinema, bowling, shopping, dining out/people‑watching. Although he is mobile, he uses a walker and wheelchair when outdoors. He occasionally uses Makaton to communicate, so familiarity with this would be advantageous. At times, our client may display signs of frustration or anger. Experience managing challenging behaviours is desirable. It is however, essential that you have prior experience in a care role, with a background in supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities (LD).
