The Role

As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll be part of our client's dedicated support team providing essential care in their home. You’ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client. This role is for 20 hours per week. Flexibility across all days of the week is required to meet the needs of the client. Shifts will be discussed during the interview stage.

About the Client & Your Responsibilities

Our lovely client lives with her husband, assistance dog, and a few other pets. She experiences chronic pain and ongoing health conditions, so she requires daily support with medication, household tasks, shopping trips, and getting to appointments. Personal assistants will also assist with personal care such as showering, washing her hair, and dressing, always with dignity and respect. A mobility vehicle is available to ensure she can continue to enjoy outings and stay connected with her community. She remains active and mobile with the use of crutches and a scooter when out and about. With a warm and creative personality, she has a passion for horses, arts and crafts, crocheting, and photography. She loves spending time in the countryside and relaxing with a good film. This is a wonderful opportunity to support someone who enjoys life and values the companionship and care of those around her.

Training & Support

We provide comprehensive paid training (to CQC standards) before your start date covering:

  • Full induction
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • First Aid / Food Hygiene / Health & Safety / Moving & Handling with Hoist
  • Medication Administering / Meds via PEG / Subcut Injection / Syringe Driver
  • Gastrostomy Care / TPN inc IV Infusion / Wound Care
  • PTSD Awareness / Anxiety Awareness / Falls Risk
  • Sepsis Awareness / Infection Control

All training must be completed prior to start date and is paid at minimum wage.

  • Driver with a full UK driving licence
  • Must understand the importance of infection control procedures
