Role Details
The role is a Personal Care Assistant providing reliable, essential care and support in the client’s home. The position is for 16 hours per week, working from 4pm to 8pm, Monday to Thursday, with additional respite care flexibility as required. This will be discussed during the telephone screening.
The Client & Duties
The client is a man in his 20s who lives with his parents and requires support with daily tasks to lead a fulfilling life. He has autism, epilepsy and other health conditions necessitating assistance for safety and well‑being. He is mobile with a walker and wheelchair outdoors, enjoys music, and participates in community activities such as cinema, bowling, shopping and dining out. He occasionally uses Makaton and may display frustration or anger; experience managing challenging behaviours is desirable. Experience supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities is essential.

Requirements

This vacancy is for a personal assistant to join the client’s support package. HomeCareDirect will be the legal employer on the client’s behalf and the role will not involve supporting other clients. All contracts are permanent with a six‑month probationary period.
