Essential Skills & Training

  • Experience working with young people with learning difficulties and complex needs
  • Understanding of therapeutic and positive behaviour support approaches
  • Mandatory Training or Care Certificate (including practical Moving & Handling)
  • Oliver McGowan Training
  • Safeguarding Children
  • Medication Awareness
  • Ability to support non-verbal communication (e.g., Makaton or PECS)
  • Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Support Worker or in a similar healthcare role is preferred.
  • Valid UK Driver's License
  • Empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Mandatory training certifications in areas such as first aid, health and safety, and safeguarding.
