About the Role

Homecare Gurus Ltd is looking for a compassionate, reliable and experienced Female Support Assistant to support a client in their own home. As a support assistant, you will provide day-to-day support to include supporting with showering, companionship, household tasks and wellbeing. The client enjoys freshly prepared British-style meals, so the successful applicant should be confident preparing simple, nutritious home-cooked meals such as traditional British dishes, in line with the client's preferences, dietary needs and care plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing fresh meals and supporting with nutrition and hydration, including preparing simple British-style home-cooked meals in line with the client's preferences, dietary needs and care plan.
  • Prompting or assisting with medication, in line with the care plan and company policy.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support.
  • Supporting with light household duties, laundry and keeping the home environment safe and tidy.
  • Attending appointments or supporting social activities where required.
  • Monitoring changes in health, wellbeing or behaviour and reporting concerns promptly.
  • Following the client's care plan and maintaining accurate daily records.
  • Promoting dignity, independence, choice and respect at all times.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Female applicant.
  • Previous care experience domiciliary care or a similar role.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to complete training and follow company policies.
  • Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to apply for one.
  • Two professional references.
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Care Certificate or relevant health and social care qualification.
  • Experience supporting older adults, people with dementia, mobility needs or long-term health conditions.
