The role of this Personal Care Assistant:
Our personal care assistants join our clients support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. This role is to work in our client's own home in Woodingdean, Brighton for 23 hours per week. You should be flexible to work across any day of the week for day, weekend or night shifts.
About the Client and Duties:
Our client is a beautiful young woman who needs assistance with all aspects of daily care including personal care. As her personal care assistant, you will be supporting her to get the most out of life. Our client enjoys horse-riding, trampolining, shopping, walking and anything else adventurous! Ideally you will be bubbly and outgoing with a great personality and should be up for encouraging our client to get the best out of everything. Previous care experience would be preferred. Drivers are required and you should be aged over 25 years of age for insurance purposes.
Training and Support:
We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering:
- Full induction
- Safeguarding Adults
- Health & Safety and First aid
- Moving & Handling via Hoist
- Gastrostomy and Medication via PEG
- Personal Care and Continence Care
- Awareness in Epilepsy, Learning Disabilities, Autism and Cerebral Palsy
All training must be completed before the start date and is paid at £14.40 per hour.
Requirements:
- This post is exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 - there is a genuine occupational requirement to recruit a female support worker only
- Driver, with a full UK driving licence, aged over 25 years for insurance purposes
- Commitment to long-term, person-centred care
- You must be reliable, compassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality
